Training & Assessment Description
This first aid course covers a broad range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want training in first aid.
Most workplaces require a specific number of people to successfully complete this qualification. ATS in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, that first aid skills are renewed at least every three years and CPR skills every 12 months.
Assessment Components
Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written quiz.
Note: It is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.
Outcome
On successful completion of being deemed competent you will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) and a plastic industry wallet card issued by QTLT RTO 40931.
Eligibility & Course Information
Prerequisites
LLN a short literacy and numeracy test will be required.
What to bring
All participants are required to wear full PPE to their course
- 1 Photo ID: e.g. Driver’s Licence, Passport (current or expired no more than 2 years), other Australian Government issued ID card with photo.
- Clothing: Long sleeve shirt, long pants and safety boots.
