Training & Assessment Description
This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to operate heavy rigid vehicle in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries. The heavy rigid vehicle course provides all the knowledge and skills necessary to satisfy the requirements of the qualification – RIIVEH307E – Operate heavy rigid vehicle.
Outcome
On successful completion of being deemed competent you will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) and a plastic industry wallet card issued by QTLT RTO 40931.
Eligibility & Course Information
Prerequisites
LLN a short literacy and numeracy test will be required.
As this is an EXPERIENCED OPERATOR course, the student is required to supply one of the following BEFORE training commences:
- Completed student logbook with between 80-100 hours of machine use recorded (please contact our office if you require one)
- Evidence letter from your employer verifying the student’s experience and noting specific occasions when machine was in use.
What to bring
All participants are required to wear full PPE to their course
- 1 Photo ID: e.g. Driver’s Licence, Passport (current or expired no more than 2 years), other Australian Government issued ID card with photo.
- Clothing: Long sleeve shirt, long pants and safety boots.

Duration
Training: Depends on numbers and experience.
Assessment: Minimum 3 hours for experienced operators, must supply work history.
